FOOD LOGGING ASO

Who logs food—and what are they trying to preserve?

These are audience hypotheses, not measured demographic shares. Research age range, schedule, food access, cooking habits, accessibility, device, locale and comfort with nutrition data before targeting anyone. Avoid stereotypes and health assumptions.

Eight apps with different definitions of a food log.

Eight current US App Store listings were checked on 26 October 2026. Seven matching Google Play listings were verified; Foodnoms was reviewed as iOS-only. This compares visible positioning, not product quality, popularity or performance.

FOOD LOGGING ASO

Five real food-log screenshot sets, read as arguments.

All 20 panels were opened at readable size. What is visible, what I recommend and what remains unknown are kept separate.

MyFitnessPal: Photo recognition opens with a category claim

Original artwork from the MyFitnessPal US App Store listing, captured 26 October 2026. Select a panel to enlarge it.

What the screenshots show: The four frames move from a number-one food-tracking claim to recognized ingredients, nutrient history and a meal-scan review.

What I would test: Lead with the scan-and-check interaction for photo-log intent; keep the category claim only where it can be substantiated. The result is unknown until tested.

Foodnoms: A simple log expands into labels and progress

Original artwork from the Foodnoms US App Store listing, captured 26 October 2026. Select a panel to enlarge it.

What the screenshots show: The sequence shows the daily log, a readable nutrition-label scan, an insights dashboard and a weight trend.

What I would test: Replace one progress dashboard with the search, voice or editable estimate flow so the promised logging choice is visible. The result is unknown until tested.

AteMate: Reflection is positioned as a different job

Original artwork from the AteMate US App Store listing, captured 26 October 2026. Select a panel to enlarge it.

What the screenshots show: The panels establish social proof, three-step photo journaling, pattern views across context and a coach conversation.

What I would test: Move the actual photo diary closer to the first frame and show how a person corrects an interpreted meal before discussing patterns. The result is unknown until tested.

See How You Eat: The day of meals is the product proof

Original artwork from the See How You Eat US App Store listing, captured 26 October 2026. Select a panel to enlarge it.

What the screenshots show: The sequence shows one photo entry, a six-meal day, review quotes and a daily note below the visual diary.

What I would test: Use the meal grid first, shorten the review frame and make privacy or export controls visible for journal intent. The result is unknown until tested.

Nutritionix Track: Speed, freeform input and coverage form a workflow

Original artwork from the Nutritionix Track US App Store listing, captured 26 October 2026. Select a panel to enlarge it.

What the screenshots show: The panels show a complete day, typed or spoken freeform logging, restaurant browsing and recipe creation.

What I would test: Modernize the visual hierarchy and show the review step after freeform parsing; the present sequence jumps from input to trust. The result is unknown until tested.

FOOD LOGGING ASO

Two original food-logging concepts—and the work before production.

These MealTrace concepts are AI-generated, fictional and untested. They are not competitor screenshots, accuracy evidence, privacy guarantees or claims about a live app.

Fictional MealTrace food-logging concept

Fast input. Visible review.

What the app promises: Photo input becomes three editable foods and portions before save.

What you can learn: The generated confidence labels make the draft feel inspectable, but a live product must define what those percentages mean.

What I would test: Correction-led proof versus an AI food-scan claim.

Human review: Replace invented food, matching, portions, confidence, context and privacy behavior with verified product states; review rights, accessibility, policy and localization.

Fictional MealTrace food-logging concept

Remember the meal. Not just the number.

What the app promises: A private photo journal adds hunger, satisfaction, company and a note while leaving numbers optional.

What you can learn: The generated meal and context are fictional; production should use real UI, accessible controls and reviewed privacy wording.

What I would test: Context-led proof versus a numbers-first diary.

Human review: Replace invented food, matching, portions, confidence, context and privacy behavior with verified product states; review rights, accessibility, policy and localization.
