RELATIONSHIP DATING ASO

Turn the relationship promise into a real experience.

People searching for a relationship-focused dating app may want to know more than whether they can swipe. Can they say what they are looking for? Are the other profiles detailed enough to start a conversation? Does the product explain how discovery, messaging, payment and privacy work? A couple photograph can convey an aspiration, but it cannot demonstrate any of those steps or guarantee an outcome.

This guide covers positioning and store conversion for adult dating products that actually support relationship intentions, profile expression or a longer-term dating experience. It does not assume every user wants the same kind of relationship. General dating discovery, casual dating and community-specific experiences deserve distinct research and should not be presented as synonyms.

1. Turn an aspiration into a clear first step.
  1. GoalA person wants to express what they seek.
  2. FeatureThe app offers optional intention fields.
  3. ProofShow the real field and edit action.
  4. BoundaryAn intention is not a promised match.

Start with the broader dating app ASO guide and connect the promise to your ASO strategy.

See the research process, relevance checks, long-tail research and prioritization before selecting terms. Confirm the named feature, community and availability; do not infer a person’s identity from a search.

Use keyword-draft.csv as a starting set of 100 unmeasured phrases. It is not a list of search volumes or confirmed opportunities. For each phrase, review the actual country, store, language, results, product fit and current availability. Keep terms that describe a supported product; reject those that suggest unavailable communities, unsupported controls or guaranteed relationships. A relevant phrase can still be too ambiguous to use in a title.

Three distinct queries illustrate the difference:

  • “relationship dating app”: explain that people can express relationship intentions, but do not promise every member wants the same thing.
  • “dating app with conversation prompts”: show a genuine prompt and explain how a response starts under the product's actual messaging rules.
  • “dating app to pause discovery”: show the actual pause setting and explain what remains visible; never imply total privacy.

For a niche, combine a supported user need with a tangible feature. A language-specific page needs a real localized onboarding and support experience, not merely translated screenshots. A long-distance positioning needs accurate supported location settings and no invented claims about the size of the community. Faith or identity terms need genuine community support and careful privacy review; do not use these categories as inferred personal ad targeting.

Check the rules for each store.

Apple’s product-page guidance documents the name and subtitle limits; Google’s listing guidance documents Play metadata. Check the current rules for each locale before submitting.

Apple’s review guidelines address user-generated content safeguards and differentiation for dating apps. Google Play’s user-generated-content policy and age-restricted functionality policy include relevant requirements. Review the full current policies with the product team.

Use Apple product page optimization, custom product pages and Google Play experiments for supported hypotheses. Rebuild AI concepts using accurate product UI; do not treat an illustration as a live app screenshot.

Illustrative description: “Create a profile that sounds like you. Share an optional dating intention, answer a prompt and explore profiles in a supported market.”

“Respond to a detail that interests you. When the product’s mutual-connection rules are met, continue using its available messaging features. Review what you share and use the controls available in your plan.”

Before production, replace assumptions with actual rules, prices, permissions and support details. Read the iOS keyword field, Google Play short description and long description guides.

This is a fictional example for Common Ground Demo, not a real app or a tested listing. Assume the app supports optional and editable intention fields, a profile prompt, a response flow, and visibility controls. The product team must validate each capability before using the concept.

1. State your dating goal. Show the actual optional intention field and its edit action. Do not claim it determines compatibility. 2. Share what matters. Show a real choice or profile prompt, clearly indicating what others can see. 3. Start with a question. Show a fictional prompt and the actual first response action. If messaging requires mutual approval, say so. 4. Take your time. Show the real pause or discovery controls, including what remains visible when paused. 5. Choose what to share. Show actual profile visibility settings; explain defaults and plan limitations. 6. Report a concern. Show the real report and block actions without making a blanket safety guarantee.

Possible CTAs include “Review your intentions,” “Answer a prompt,” and “Review visibility.” They describe actions rather than promising a match, date or relationship. Test a product-led first panel against an aspiration-led panel, and measure whether people understand the next step; neither is presumed to win.

RELATIONSHIP DATING ASO

Avoid common creative and positioning mistakes.

1. Promise a relationship: describe the supported experience and keep the outcome outside the claim. 2. Present a single couple's story as a typical outcome: use permissioned material and explain its illustrative nature. 3. Claim compatibility predicts a relationship: describe what the feature uses and what it cannot establish. 4. Treat all intention options as fixed: show the actual ability to skip or edit when supported. 5. Use a badge as proof of universal safety: explain the specific verification method and limits. 6. Use profile details without permission: use consented examples or clearly fictional data. 7. Omit the rule for beginning chat: describe mutual actions and plan restrictions accurately. 8. Advertise a narrow community the product cannot support: verify features, support, representation and actual markets. 9. Make location precision unclear: explain what is collected, displayed and configurable. 10. Optimize for every message: consider voluntary engagement, unwanted contact and privacy alongside acquisition.

5. Use a badge to explain a specific check.
  1. MethodName what the verification checks.
  2. ScopeExplain whether the check is optional.
  3. LimitsA check cannot guarantee safe interactions.
  4. HelpShow the real report and block tools.

Record changes in a metadata change log and verify the scope of trust signals.

RELATIONSHIP DATING ASO

Turn research into an Apple Ads plan.

Separate brand, supported category intent and discovery so results are interpretable. For example, one focused exact-match group might investigate relationship-intention phrases, while another examines profile prompts. Place broad-match and Search Match discovery in their own bounded group and review actual matched terms. Exact match can still include close variants; consult Apple’s current documentation rather than assuming a search query will exactly reproduce the chosen phrase.

A custom product page for a prompt query should show the actual prompt and response sequence. An intentions page should show editable or optional fields only if the product supports them. Avoid using sensitive personal characteristics to infer ad audiences, and do not suggest that a particular person or group is available. Exclude clearly unrelated search terms using appropriate negative keywords after checking the effect of the selected match type. No campaign or spend has been created.

Agree on eligible market, budget cap, stop conditions and privacy-safe aggregate measurement before a test. A sample funnel is eligible install → voluntary account creation → completed profile → voluntary discovery → mutually permitted conversation. Count and interpret those events carefully: a high message count can include unwanted contact, and neither a message nor a match proves a relationship. Add appropriate aggregate support and moderation indicators; do not export conversations or sensitive profile details into advertising reports.

Illustrative arithmetic only: if an independently approved ceiling for a qualified activation were $20 and 25% of installs reached it, an install ceiling would be $5. If 30% of taps produced installs, an implied tap ceiling would be $1.50. These inputs are invented to demonstrate the calculation and are neither benchmarks nor bid recommendations. Include actual retention, subscription contribution, refunds, support and moderation costs when deciding economics.

6. Match search intent to the product page.
  1. ResearchGroup searches by supported task.
  2. PageShow the matching real feature.
  3. ActivationMeasure eligible voluntary use.
  4. QualityInclude privacy-safe support and safety signals.

Check Apple’s campaign structure, match types and negative keywords. Define conversion denominators, ASO KPIs and the relationship between ASO and acquisition.

RELATIONSHIP DATING ASO

Patterns worth investigating, not proven trends.

In the five US iOS sets captured on 27 October 2026, several publishers lead with couples while later panels show intentions, values or conversation. Others use a verification badge without explaining its limits in the same frame. This small sample is not a market-wide trend or evidence of conversion impact.

Test a feature-led opening against an aspiration-led opening, and ask viewers to explain what happens after a prompt response. Check whether a verification explanation is understood. The original screenshots show the source material; the proposed effects remain hypotheses.

Use AI to explore a clearer story.

The following are original fictional AI teaching concepts, not real members, app screens or tested treatments. Open the full-size images and review them against the product.

Fictional relationship intention and preference settings
AI CONCEPT · Review an editable intention · Open full size.
Fictional adult profile with a conversation prompt and unsent response
AI CONCEPT · Review an unsent response · Open full size.
7. Treat AI creative as a draft.
  1. SupplyProvide approved UI and fictional adults.
  2. ConstrainProhibit invented outcomes and member claims.
  3. InspectCheck every word and product action.
  4. RebuildUse real approved UI before testing.

The intention concept needs real default, visibility and edit controls; its small footer requires readability review. The conversation concept needs a real messaging rule and explicit handling of the unsent draft. Neither implies a reply, match or relationship. Rebuild with approved product UI and fictional or permissioned people before any test.

Use the test hypothesis guide to compare one change at a time. DOWNLOAD TEN WORKED TEST BRIEFS ↓

Two saved concepts are fictional teaching material. The intentions concept shows a self-selected goal and an edit cue; confirm the real product offers those choices and explain who sees them. The conversation concept shows a fictional adult and an unsent response; rebuild it from the approved interface and verify when a message is actually sent. Both need mobile-size contrast and accessibility review. Neither is a real member, live product screen, verified result or test winner.

Suggested brief: “Use approved product screens and fictional adult profiles to show one editable relationship intention and one actual conversation action. Explain any mutual-approval condition. Do not invent matches, testimonials, safety guarantees, member statistics, local availability or profile information. Flag features that cannot be verified.”

Localize, verify and measure the complete journey.

8. Localize the entire experience.
  1. MarketConfirm adult eligibility and availability.
  2. LanguageReview wording with local expertise.
  3. SupportCheck moderation and support in that language.
  4. ReleaseVerify controls and accessibility on real devices.

Validate current adult-eligibility rules, profile and intention visibility, report/block flows, permissions, paid-plan boundaries, claims and supported countries with their owners. Review local language with people familiar with the community, and check that support, moderation and onboarding are available in the language advertised. Test actual UI at store size, including non-audio alternatives where relevant. Record definitions, dates and comparison cohorts before drawing conclusions. This sample covers public US iOS listings only; it is not an Android competitor audit, measured keyword study, legal assessment or safety certification.

Use local keyword research, screenshot adaptation and localization QA. An ASO audit can turn these questions into a prioritized plan.
