The Uninstall rate of your app is another factor that makes a massive difference in ASO.
Will this rate affect our competitors negatively, or is it a benefit to them?
The app stores place importance in the uninstall rate of any app. This is their
way of protecting themselves from bad, buggy, crappy or scammy apps.
Users will download an app, expecting it to be a good app but then when they start using it, they soon realise that it is a mess, full of ads, full of spam, with bad UX and will uninstall it.
The app stores will use this data saying “ok wait something is wrong here,
this app is getting a lot of downloads, but now they’re uninstalling it, with only x number of active devices.”
This is data the app stores will use to determine what are good and bad apps.
Remember, the app stores want users to use the app. They want to be able to offer the best potential apps out there.
They want users to use your app because it means it is a quality app, and not uninstall it.
If you are getting a high level of uninstalls, then there must be a problem with the app from a product point of view. So go and
fix those issues to help you ASO marketing efforts succeed overall.
