As mentioned in our earlier video, keywords are essential for Apple.
Three main elements will help your app rank, and these are that 100 character field for your keywords,
your title and tagline.
The 100 character field is where you plug in the keywords you want to rank. It is not a lot of space, so you’re going to have to be creative – especially since between every keyword, you are required to insert a comma. So this special piece of real estate just shrank even more.
Your app’s title and tagline also have character requirements.
It is the combination of these three – your title, tagline and keywords, working together, that will help you rank higher. You need to be creative and form long-tail keywords between the three.
But beyond that, you need to rank for each section individually as well.
Which is why for Apple, DON’T REPEAT your keywords.
If a word is in your title, don’t use it on your tagline or keyword list.
Other factors also come into play to help you rank, including the number of reviews and downloads, the higher, the better and of course, a low uninstall rate. No need to concern yourself too much about the description since you won’t rank for it on Apple.
