Understanding the Value of Keywords in ASO

Keywords are not just keywords are your getaway to success if you know how to do it properly

Narrow keywords may have less competition, less traffic but higher conversion. But how narrow is too narrow and what about weakly related keywords? Example: using “snowman” keyword for a Santa Claus game with no snowmen in it.
A2: Need to understand people’s intent through doing market research.

  • Understand similar interests of users (example aircraft and submarines – do they have a similar market?). Can be difficult to determine that one search topic can lead to another.
  •  ASO works better when there is a clear correlation between the keywords. Preferable to use narrow, targeted keywords that convert.
