Things to Keep in Mind in App Store Optimization

  • Avoid manipulation of algorithm
    App stores hate (there are humans) and can identify:
    1. Keyword stuffing (title and/or description)
    2. Many apps with the same code targeting a different target market
    3. Review & download manipulation
  • Eventually this type of behaviour will backfire
  • Best to be soft when implementing ASO
  • Can run into problems if outsourcers don’t follow the rules of each app store
  • App store can flag your account as a potential naughty person
