Where to start the ASO process
(Keyword Research Part 1) (Show #3)
Start your keyword research process by finding your seed keywords.
All you need is about 10 to start out with. You don’t need any ASO tools, just think about words that describe your app, what it does and its features. For example, for a fitness app, seed keywords could be “running, tracking, walking, exercise” and even related words such as “diet, healthy” and more.
It is advisable to be as generic as possible. This will give you a wider range of options so you’ll have more data to disqualify as you move on to the next steps of ASO, which is filtering your list down to your final set of chosen keywords.
Setting narrow research parameters at this early stage will cause issues later on when you need different keyword variations as well.
Keyword Research Part 1
The first step for keyword research in your ASO process is coming up with a list of your seed keywords.
These are simple words that will tell you what the app is all about.
The richer your keyword research is, the better your ASO results, with seed keywords as a great starting point.
